Issue Fireworks users on
Windows systems report that when they make Fireworks the active
application window, all of the panels in Fireworks are redrawn in the
center of the screen.
Reason One known reason for
this involves an installed Matrox graphics card and driver. Some Matrox
cards include an option called CenterWindows that automatically centers
dialog boxes and windows on the screen whenever a user-defined key
combination is pressed. In this case, it is possible that a key sequence
such as Alt+Tab could be assigned to the CenterWindows feature causing
Fireworks panels to center on the screen when changing between
applications.
Solution
Disable the CenterWindow Hot Key feature in the Matrox Display
Properties control panel, if enabled.
To disable
the CenterWindow Hot Key feature:
1
Open the
the Matrox Display Properties dialog. You can do this either by
choosing Start > Programs > Matrox PowerDesk > Matrox
Display Properties, or by right-clicking on the Display icon in the
System Tray and choosing Matrox Display Properties from the context
menu. See the illustrations below for examples of each
method.
From Windows
Start menu:
From
the Display icon in the System tray:
Note: On some
systems, the Matrox Display Properties dialog is accessible by
opening Windows' Display Properties Control Panel and clicking the
Advanced button on the Settings tab.
2
In the Matrox
Display Properties window, click the Hot Keys tab, then select the
CenterWINDOW feature. Enter None in the Hot Key field to the right,
as shown in illustration below.
